How does the Internet of things impact our daily lives?

    July 4, 2019

With that bright future in mind, let’s look at some of the aspects of your daily life that the Internet of Things may affect with. …This is believed to be the technology of the future. almost all aspects of our lives will have an impact of Internet of Things (IoT) in near future.

In this write up we will check the aspects where IOT leads its impact and changes the way of work.

Many of the everyday objects with which people have lived together with have now come alive; smartphones, refrigerators, TV, cars, home automation in general etc.

    Personalization and individualization

The IoT offers people an individual tour for each one. It allows people to personalize those devices, things or everyday objects so that it can give them the use that they are interested in.
The Internet of Things allows an exclusive and personalized use of the everyday devices that people use and that are connected to the Internet.
Examples of how we apply improving living standard by Internet of Things today-

Smarter cities-Smart lighting of streets or automatic sensing and control of traffic signals

Cleaner air and water- auto on/off and can set different parameter of cleaness.

Smarter agriculture may be self watering system or any other thing.

Cutting food waste- sensor technology along with the cloud computing and effect the fresh food supply chain in decision making at every step, that can helps in preventing wastage of food.

    Connecting patients
Fighting breast cancer-Better health care via remote monitoring of patients and even remotely administering medication to them

Also their can be so many other fields where its usage can be set for better improvement or in simple words we can say IOT is everywhere- let’s take two explanatory examples-

Internet of Things (IoT) Enabled Home Automation
Home automation is a big field where tech companies are concentrating. Home automation offers several advantages. Imagine being able to set the lighting and temperature of your room without even moving out of your chair. Imagine a system that can store these settings and can always have the lights and temperature set up based on the weather. Also, imagine if you could remotely trigger your appliances so that your clothes can be washed at a specific time or your brewed coffee can be ready just when you reach home.
Another major benefit of the Internet of Things (IoT) is that it cuts the utility bills of the house. Hence, even though the equipment may be expensive, it prevents wastage of electricity and brings down the bill.

Internet of Things (IoT) Enabled Vehicle Management
Cars don’t just break down. Often the health of the vehicles is deteriorating for a long period. Vehicle management systems continuously obtain statistics about the performance of the car. As soon as any abnormality is detected, the same is brought to the notice of the owner. The owner can then get the car checked and fixed before any major breakdown takes place. The proper maintenance of the car increases the life expectancy as well as fuel efficiency. This translates into savings which more than justify the cost of the Internet of Things (IoT) enabled device that is providing this vital information.

Impact on Business, Economy, Job Skills and Society
Once the business value of the IOT domain is understood, new products, services and revenue models will emerge which will attract investments and therefore create jobs in the IOT area. This also has the potential to increase imports or exports for such products and solutions, which in turn could push up economies (similar to what IT services has done for India).

If they are able to consistently demonstrate the safe usage of IOT, it could really open up possibilities for a cleaner, better and productive life for all of us.
